When Katie and Evan first got in touch with me about their Brighton wedding on the famous Brighton Bandstand, I was so excited – they were planning a really fun outdoor wedding on the bandstand on Brighton Beach. An iconic structure right on the beach & open to the elements, so for a May wedding we were praying for a clear sky!

Katie and Evan are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Getting ready

I started shooting at a beautiful air bnb in Hove, where the girls were all getting ready surrounded by fizz & flowers. It was so chilled out because all the girls were there having fun. Katie wore a stunning Martina Liana dress with a pair of Emerald Green Rachel Simpson shoes. They where incredible! Evan wore a dark green Gresham Blake tailored suit, they looked so perfect.

The ceremony

The wedding took place on the famous Brighton Bandstand on Brightons seafront. It was a beachfront outdoor ceremony over looking the famous West Pier and the sea. They had some beautiful readings, surrounded by friends & family this was a wonderful ceremony. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together and were showered with colourful confetti, and then the party began.

The reception

The wedding reception took place Brightons Hotel Du Vin, which they’d decorated with beautiful flowers and candles. It was stunning & very romantic!

It was a crazy day on the weather front. During the ceremony the wind picked up and everyone was being blown away, then after the ceremony the heavens opens and we all ran for cover off the beach mid group shots. The sky turned a deep dark black then the rain came hammering down. It was really dramatic but we all loved it. Then the wind took the rain clouds away and before we knew it the sun was beaming down, hilarious! While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered along the beach doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from the portraits is of Katie & Evan looking amazing on Brighton Beach! What a fab day.
